Golf
Club Walden offers one of Ohio’s most challenging and beautifully manicured championship golf courses. Contemplate a day of outdoor leisure at your own pace, or challenge your friends and colleagues to 18 holes of sportsmanlike competition on our Par 72- 7,203yds (Black – 139 /75.2, Blue 133 /72.9, White 128 /70.2, Red 125 /71.8).
Golf Course Tour

Hole 1 – 440 par 4
A tee shot to the top of the hill will give you a clear view of your target from 150 yards. This green is guarded by two strategically placed bunkers. Be careful as the second shot is downhill and plays shorter than the yardage.

Hole 2 – 158 par 3
This beautiful par three displays the natural beauty of Walden. The century barn in the background was the original clubhouse. Water and sand challenge your mid irons to find the putting surface.

Hole 3 – 491 par 5
A short par five that long hitters will try to reach in two. A drive on the right side of the fairway will avoid the fairway bunker. The bunker in front of the green forces all but the longest hitters to lay up for an approach shot over the bunker.

Hole 4 – 421 par 4
Be sure to drive the ball straight to avoid the treacherous fairway bunker on the left. Be aware that the best approach will be from the left side to avoid flirting with the right front greenside bunker.

Hole 5 – 435 par 4
A smartly positioned rive will land on the right side of the fairway and follow the gradual scope left to the middle of the fairway. A left pin will force you to make a decision to go for the pin and risk carrying the deep pot bunker or playing safe to the middle of the green.

Hole 6 – 509 par 5
This par five snakes its way through the Walden landscape. It will take three perfectly placed shots to conquer this hole. Favor the left side with your tee shot as the fairway scope will carry the ball to the right. Be very careful on this hole as snakes do bite.

Hole 7 – 422 par 4
A sharp dogleg left that demands good strategy to par this hole. The left fairway bunker will challenge you to drive as close to it as possible to reward you with a good approach to this large green guarded on the right by a well placed bunker.

Hole 8 – 205 par 3
A beautiful par three will test your ability to carry the front bunker and hold the green. A large rolling green with tricky breaks awaits your arrival. Stay short of the pin for easier uphill putts.

Hole 9 – 416 par 4
The finishing par four sweeps around a cavernous left fairway bunker. Driving off the tee the hole will appear to have continuous sand up to the green. As you approach the green be sure to avoid the deadly bunkers guarding this beautiful finishing hole.

Hole 10 – 460 par 4
Your golf experience at Walden begins with a dramatic view of Lake Walden. This long par four demands that you warm up as you’ll need your best tee shot to allow an opportunity to reach the green in regulation. Avoid the lone bunker guarding this large green with your approach.

Hole 11 – 438 par 4
The most difficult tee shot at Walden. A well placed tee shot is at the inside corner on this dogleg right. Your approach to the green will likely play longer than the yardage as it is uphill and usually into the wind.

Hole 12 – 400 par 4
Avoid the fairway bunker on this downhill par four and you should have an excellent shot at this elevated green. Be aware of the three pot bunkers hidden from view in the shaded contours around the green.

Hole 13 – 165 par 3
The shortest par three at Walden. This green runs off on all sides and requires a height shot to hold the putting surface. Miss this green to the right and you will likely find the water hazard. Accuracy, not length is rewarded on this hole.

Hole 14 – 546 par 5
This dogleg left par five is the #1 handicap hole. Water guards this hole from tee to green on the left and water on the right and crossing the fairway challenges the second shot. A very large receptive green protected by three bunkers awaits your uphill approach.

Hole 15 – 579 par 5
Your best shot will be on the left side to give you a good angle for your second shot. Be sure to lay up short or beyond the left bunker. The approach to the green is open in front if bump and run is your choice.

Hole 16 – 415 par 4
A well placed tee shot is just inside the tree on the corner of this dogleg left. A receptive green protected by two bunkers awaits your approach. Shots short of the pin will leave an uphill putt.

Hole 17 – 235 par 3
This long uphill par three is the toughest par at Walden. The green is surrounded left and right by bunkers. You will do well to hit a straight shot up the middle even if you are short. Keep your approach below the pin on this treacherous green.

Hole 18 – 457 par 4
Water on the left side and crossing the fairway place demands on tee shots. Long hitters might be able to reach the water crossing the fairway. This large green awaits your uphill approach. A large opening in front rewards straight shots into the green.

Men’s Saturday League is an open sign-up allowing you a great opportunity to meet other members.
SENIORS
Seniors 55 & over gather at Walden on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
THURSDAY EVENING MEN’S 9 HOLE
Two man round robin team match play. All men are welcome to join.
COUPLES EVENTS
Couples events include dinner after golf and plenty of social time to spend with your friends at Walden.
WWGA (Walden Women’s Golf Association) 18-HOLER’S
The WWGA plays on Tuesday mornings and has a full schedule of all types of events.
LADIES 9-HOLER’S
The Nine Holers meet weekly for a spirited nine holes of golf on Wednesday evenings.
MEN’S TRIPLE CROWN
The Club’s premier three-day member/guest event and the ultimate golf and social experience of the year.
ONE DAY MEMBER GUESTS
This one-day member/guest is open to all full members. Bring one, two, or three guests for the day.
HOLIDAY EVENTS
The key summer holidays of Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day is perfect for couples and members to get together at the club.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
If competition is what you crave then this is it. Club Championships for men, seniors, couples, WWGA, and Nine Holer’s gives everyone the opportunity to give it a shot to be a champion.
Golf Shop
It’s a great place to shop for all of your clothing and equipment needs. Recognized as one of the top Golf Shops in Ohio its 1700 square foot space, offers an extensive and diverse selection of apparel, equipment and accessories for men, women and children are always on-hand, with the top brands readily available.
GENTLEMEN’S LOCKER ROOM
The locker room is perfect for a cocktail to wrap up a round with friends, or enjoy a quick bite to eat before teeing off. Relax with a full steam and sauna after a workout to let your outside worries drift away. Personal lockers and guest lockers are available, as well as shoe care.
LADIES LOCKER ROOM
Located to overlook the pond and practice area, the ladies locker room provides personal lockers, showers, and changing areas. This area is a perfect place to play cards with friends or enjoy a refreshing beverage between 9’s.
GOLF CARTS
For those members who live in Walden, the convenience of owning your own cart is too tempting to pass up. An annual trail fee that covers the maintenance of the cart paths is billed to members on an annual basis through the golf shop.
LESSON INSTRUCTION & CLINICS
Private lessons are available for players of all abilities. Periodic clinics are offered on different aspects of the game.
PRACTICE FACILITIES
Walden offers a great opportunity for game improvement and we have it all. You can practice your full swings on the driving range, improve your putting touch on any of the practice putting greens, and hone your short game skills on our short range, which features chipping, approach shots of every angle, bunker, and 100-yards and closer shots.
