Yoga has been a perpetual life changing journey. I was first introduced to yoga as a means for physical healing. The beauty of this recovery was that it also brought a balance within, and in turn created a sense of harmony with everything around me. It was at this point that I knew that I wanted to teach yoga not only to adults, but also children. I received my 200 hour yoga teacher training under the beautiful guidance of Barrie Rosencrans at Spa Walden, focusing on Baron Baptiste, and greatly influenced by Dharma. My personal practice tends to be a fusion of both. I have found connection through the yoga sutras, chakra theory, and mindful meditation. I firmly believe in feeling your yoga practice; allowing your practice to seep into your daily life, and inspire you. We all are inspired in different ways, and it is important to look at your yoga practice from different vantage points; always changing, never doubting, and embracing. I have been taught to “teach what you know”, and by following those words I know that my classes will always be an authentic reflection of who I am. My favorite quote is “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” (Gandhi) Allow yoga to empower you to be present in the moment, open to new ideas and opportunities, and embrace change. As we aspire to be better, we can not help but to inspire others simply by being our true selves.
