Have a little fun in the sun during your wedding cocktail hour and more! Games are a great tool to help all your friends and family break the ice, especially those who may be meeting one another for the first time.

Walden scenery provides the perfect backdrop for ceremonies and outdoor cocktails with hors d’oeuvres.  We encourage you to take advantage of the beautiful day and give your guests a chance to play! Here are a few ideas:

“Giant” Jenga:  Everyone played Jenga as a kid, this is perfect because multiple players can play at once. Having a life size version only makes it extra fun.

Corn Hole: This game is growing in popularity, however, some believed it originated in Ohio.  Introduce something new to out of town guests.  Make a “his & hers” corn hole set with bean bags that coordinate with your wedding colors.

Burlap Sack Racing:  Make it a wedding to remember with a little innocent competition; We kindly ask you set the drinks down, take the high heels off, and stay in the grass please.

Did you know Walden has horses on property?  I would be happy to assist in arranging for a unique photo opportunity for your guests, or even pony rides for the little ones.

The list of outdoor fun can go on forever:  Bocce ball, tic tack toe, ring toss, giant checkers, etc. But let’s talk about bringing the fun inside:  During dinner give your guests something to talk about.  Make it personal by having your guests fill out a funny “mad lib” for you to read later or see who knows you best with a questionnaire. Last but not least, keep everyone on the dance floor and having a good time.  Have your DJ make a small break for a game of musical chairs or limbo.  Maybe even include a prize for the winner! Who doesn’t like prizes?
