Dear Kate,

Walden is and has been our favorite getaway and one of the few places we that we come back to. Besides the obvious sentimental hold that this place has for us, the level that you and your staff have to personal detail is unsurpassed. It makes a difference to us that each and every one of your staff members instantly know our names and understand how special Walden is for us. I don’t know how you do it, but our expectations are surpassed each time we visit.

A couple of your staff members deserve special mention during our visit this time.

Shannon was amazing. When she knew of Anita’s allergies (all nuts except pecans), she brought in extra confections from the kitchen during tea time, and sent her those amazing caramelized cayenne pecans to our rooms. And during hors d’oeuvres she made excellent berry martini for Anita from fresh berries from the kitchen that was excellent. She simply went above and beyond.

Katie served us breakfast both days. She was personable, friendly, lovely, and professional. She also handled the issue with Anita’s allergies very well, and brought us a custom made compote for her lemon ricotta pancakes. She was a delight.

I was hoping that you would pass along our thanks to them and tell them that they made our anniversary very special.
